Our lab is interested in developing advanced biomaterials for agricultural and biomedical applications with a particular focus on cell replacement therapies for type 1 diabetes (T1D). Most of our work, ranging from material synthesis and device fabrication to cell engineering and process integration, is centered around the goal of finding a way to deliver safely insulin producing cells with long-term function for T1D patients. For agricultural applications, we are interested in developing biomaterials for sustainability and food safety.
