My general research interest is immune regulation in dairy cows with a focus on the innate immune response in mastitis and metritis, 2 of the economically most important disease complexes in dairy cattle. The dairy cow undergoes a time of immune dysfunction after parturition when production of inflammatory mediators is high but the efficiency to eliminate pathogens is decreased and incidence of mastitis and metritis is high. My research efforts go towards unraveling the mechanistic behind the immune dysfunction and explore possible new intervention strategies.
